First of all, before starting, Let me tell you there are two types of updates of an aadhar card which is Demographics Update and Biometrics Update For Demographics Update You can do both via the online and offline method. But for Biometrics Update You’ve to Visit Suvidha Center for Aadhar card Biometrics update.

Demographic Information: Name, Address, Date of Birth/Age, Gender, Mobile Number, Email Address, Relationship Status and Information Sharing Consent.

Biometric information: Iris, Finger Prints and Photograph of the face only.

Demographic updates

  1. Life event changes like marriage, the permanent shift of address, mobile number update or email id change.
  2. If at the time of enrollment you did not provide a mobile number you can do it now with the update option.

Biometric updates:

  1. If the Aadhar card was made for an infant then UIDAI needs to revalidate the biometric.
  2. For the age above 15 years after every 10 years, you need to update your biometrics.

  • Visit SSUP (Self Service Aadhar portal) for updating Your Aadhar card.
  • Click here to visit SSUP.
  • Click for update by Post
  • Download and fill in the V2 Form for updates. Send the completed V2 form and supporting documents to UIDAI, Post Box No. 99, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad – 500034 India
  • Mark the envelope as “Aadhaar Update/Correction” on top in bold.
  • When the form and documents are received at the office you will receive a URN number on your registered mobile number.
  • This URN helps you in keeping track of your request.
  • Note: It is free of cost update option.

Aadhar card update Through Suvidha Center

This Method helps you to update both demographic and biometric data.

  1. Visit the closest Suvidha center with your original Supportive documents
  2. Fill in the form and provide your supporting documents. Don’t Worry The documents will be scanned and returned to you.
  3. A URN ID will be sent on your registered mobile numbers and given to you in printed Form.
  4. Keep a track of your status by this URN number.

How to check Aadhar card update status?

You can check the status of your Aadhar card correction by the following steps:

  1. Must Have your URN (Update request number) and aadhar number ready with you.
  2. Then you have to Go on: https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/check-status
  3. Enter your aadhar number There.
  4. Then it Will ask you to Enter your URN. Just enter it.
  5. Solve The Captcha.
  6. Click on Get status.

The status of your aadhar update request will be shown to the screen in front of you.

FEES: A fee of Rs 25/- will be collected from you for the update.

Note: You can also check Update Status through Aadhar Card Enquiry Phone number.

Time Period For Updation of Aadhar card?

The maximum operation window is 90 days. Your update request will be cross-checked by UIDAI representative. Once It’s Approved You’ll get an SMS along with Email. thereafter you can again generate a copy of your Eaadhar again.

With the process getting more streamlined, some people have reported that within 7-10 days also their updated details were reflected.

  14. Kissan Photo Passbook.
  15. CGHS/ECHS Photo card.
  16. Address card having name and photo, issued by the Department of Posts.

  18. Disability ID card.
  19. Affidavit executed on a non-judicial stamp paper.
  20. Marriage certificate.
  21. Proof of marriage document issued by a Registrar.
  22. Gazette notification.
  23. Legal name change certificate.

For Aadhar Card Date of Birth (DOB) Update

  1. Birth Certificate.
  2. Passport.
  3. SSLC Certificate.
  4. Certificate of Date of Birth issued by a Group A Gazetted Officer on the official letterhead.

For Aadhar Card Address Update

  1. Bank statement or passbook.
  2. Passport.
  3. Ration Card.
  4. Voter ID.
  5. Driving license.
  6. Government photo ID card/service photo ID card issued by PSU.
  7. Electricity bill (must be recent and not over 3 months old).
  8. Water bill (must be recent and not over 3 months old).
  9. Telephone landline bill (must be recent and not over 3 months old).
  10. Property Tax receipt (must be recent and not over 3 months old).
  11. Credit Card statement (must be recent and not over 3 months old).
  12. Insurance policy.
  13. A signed letter having photo from bank on the letterhead.
  14. A signed letter having photo from registered company on letterhead.
  15. A signed letter having photo issued by recognized educational institution on letterhead.
  16. NREGS job card.
  17. Arms license.
  18. Pensioner card.
  19. Freedom fighter card.
  20. Kissan passbook.

  22. Certificate of address having photo issued by MP/MLA/Gazetted officer/Tehsildar on letterhead.
  23. Certificate of address issued by village panchayat.
  24. Income tax assessment order.
  25. Vehicle registration certificate.
  26. Registered agreement of sale, lease, or rent.
  27. Photo identity card issued by Department of Posts.
  28. Case and Domicile Certificate with photo issued by State Government.
  29. Disability ID card/handicapped medical certificate.
  30. Gas connection bill (should be recent and not over 3 months old).
  31. For minors – passport of parents.
